Odoo's Manufacturing app is good at bills of materials and work orders. The tricky part is answering simple questions: which work center is falling behind, what is causing the downtime, and is this one bad shift or a slow slide?
Getting those answers usually means jumping between screens and piecing numbers together. On the floor it's the same story. Operators check the drawing, then the BOM, then fill in a paper checklist, often without the manufacturing order in front of them. Small things slip through. A work order sits open and nobody starts it. Quality history lives in another module. A work center gets quietly worked around instead of being properly blocked and released.
ShopFloor MES & OEE Dashboard closes that gap. Every job is worked through one guided screen, and the same data feeds your OEE dashboard. What the operator records is exactly what the manager sees. Nothing to re-type, nothing to chase.
Cards grouped by manufacturing order, with Ready, Queued or Blocked status, quantity done and a step progress bar.
Materials (BOM), tooling, operations checklist, quality and quality history, all on the work order itself.
Whoever is at the tablet picks their name and the job logs against them. No separate Odoo login for each person.
If a work order is opened but never started, a popup asks the operator to start it or close it.
Stop the whole work center, or just one operation, so a problem is recorded instead of worked around.
Availability, performance, quality and OEE, ranked worst first with colour-coded status badges.
See what stopped production and which type of loss is hurting you most.
Put OEE, downtime and the work center ranking on a floor display so the line sees how it's running.
Two halves of one loop. The shop floor screen captures the work, and the dashboard reads the same data back.
On the Shop Floor
On the OEE dashboard
The operator taps their work center and sees how many jobs are waiting. Filters and search find a specific job fast.
One tap opens the work order with its MO, product, quantity, status and step count.
Parts, tools, checklist steps and quality checks sit in four sections, each with its own count.
The timer logs real time. The Done field on each BOM line is filled in as parts are used.
Past quality results are one tap away, so a repeat defect shows up before final inspection.
Report scrap, add a component, log a note, flag a quality issue or block the work center or operation.
Time, quantity and scrap are already captured, so they flow straight into the plant tiles, trend and ranking.

Works for discrete and process manufacturers, including automotive, food and beverage, electronics, pharma and medical devices, and packaging.
Building this from scratch in Odoo means extending the Shop Floor screen with work order cards, an operator panel and a job screen, then adding idle alerts, blocking logic, OEE calculation, Six Big Losses reporting, a work center ranking, a TV display and multi-company access rules. For an experienced Odoo developer, that is typically several weeks of work including testing.
Give your operators one guided screen and your managers one OEE dashboard.

OEE is availability × performance × quality, shown as a percentage. In standard Odoo it’s the share of a work center’s available time that was productive, so paused or blocked time lowers it. This module reads that same shop floor data and adds the plant view, trend and loss breakdown.
