Problem
A security audit discovers the managed PostgreSQL database has a public IP and is accessible from the internet with only a password as protection. The connection string, including the password, is in the application's .env file committed to a private Git repository three months ago.
Solution
Ahex removes the database public network interface, restricts it to VPC private networking only, rotates the database password, removes the committed .env from Git history with git filter-repo, and stores the new connection string in App Platform encrypted environment variables β database is now unreachable from the public internet.
Problem
The DigitalOcean App Platform deploy is failing. The build log shows a generic exit code 1 with no useful context. The team has been pushing commits for 45 minutes trying to debug a deploy that works fine locally. Production is running an hour-old version.
Solution
Ahex identifies the cause β a missing BUILD_COMMAND environment variable and a Dockerfile EXPOSE port mismatch with the App Platform HTTP port setting.
